This is like 'Garden Trowel Beekeeping' you don't need to become a beekeeper to help Nature, growing sunflowers is a good start - and if you win, well you will Bee Rewarded as well as all the pollinators!
The race is free to enter, if you are local(Wirral/Cheshire/Flintshire) and would like 3 sunflower seedlings/plants let me know, or start off your own. The ones giving away are Verve - Sunflower American Giant Yellow variety.

Rules:
1. Grow as many sunflowers as you like - record only the height of your tallest sunflower
2: Enter by 31st May 2026 and text/email height last day of each month
3: On 1st September the tallest recorded sunflower wins
4: If sunflowers recorded with the same height Sept 1st - Stage 2 happens
5: Stage 2 - You need to recorded weekly the height of sunflower
6: Measurement from uppermost part of sunflower to the soil line
7: Confirmation of winning sunflower only after being measured by the judge
8: All points raised during the competition will be dealt with in a common sense manner within
the spirit of the competition which is to support pollinators and have fun!
